WISN 12 News learned the man, a window washer, was working on scaffolding outside the building when he suffered chest pain.
The man also had chemicals with him on the scaffolding.
"Our Heavy Urban Rescue Team came in they were able to put the individual in a Stokes basket and do a lowering situation for him to the roof, and we were able to get him on a cot and out of here and get him transported to the hospital," Milwaukee Fire Department Battalion Chief Christopher Snyder said.
"It scares me. I'm afraid of heights, so when I just hear about it, it gives me the shakes," Northwestern Mutual Life employee Sara Lewkowski said.
