Coupon policies differ at Commisary and Exchanges
Are you just starting to use coupons at the Commissary and Exchanges and baffled by the difference between a store coupon and a manufacturer's coupon?
Off post, it seems pretty clear, but on post, we have our own language when it comes to coupons.
If your coupons have been rejected by the cashier when you've tried to use them together (called stacking) and it doesn't make any sense to you, hopefully this will help.
"Military Store Coupons," labeled as such, are actually manufacturer's coupons. Even though it says "store coupon" on it, you will see the barcode starts with a 5. Anytime a coupon starts with a 5, it generally means that it's a manufacturer's coupon. You can find these coupons throughout the Commissary and can request them by mail from sites such as thefamilyunitpg.com and commissaryshopper.com.
While the Commissary doesn't have its own "store" coupon, the Exchange does. Find Exchange store coupons in coupon booklets (such as the Clip & Save Big booklet) and on its Facebook page. The barcodes usually start with 6 or 4.
