MUSIC INTERVIEW: FOXY SHAZAM
23.05.12
&Rsquo;s Stefan Goldby recently met up with the band inside the world famous Capitol Records tower in Hollywood, CA, how could we be anything but entertained?
Stefan Goldby: Eight years in to the legend of Foxy Shazam and we are a long way from Cincinnati, OH circa 2004. You have long been beloved for bring a more theatrical element into rock and roll, but with this new album, you are making a leap from the theater into the church: Isn’t that a fairly ballsy move, even for Foxy Shazam?
Eric Sean Nally: The whole idea behind this record is that there wasn’t anything out there for us to believe in. I just didn’t like what I was hearing. There wasn’t anything new that made me excited.
Alex Nauth: It was very disheartening.
ESN: So what we did is we made that for ourselves, and that’s why we made that record. The Church of Rock and Roll is just there for us to have something to believe in. And hopefully we can convert people to believe in it as well. It’s from our heart, it’s real music, and you can trust us when I say you can put your faith into it.
