Elemental Technologies, the leading supplier of video
solutions for multiscreen content delivery, today
announced the addition of David Godfrey as vice president of sales in
Asia. Based in Hong Kong, Godfrey will lead sales and service efforts in
the Asia-Pacific region, where Elemental has a rapidly growing customer
base that includes KBS (Korean television network) and Hyundai Heavy
Industries in Korea, NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) in Japan and
Sky Racing and Network 10 in Australia. Elemental currently serves more
than 100 enterprise customers worldwide, including Disney, ESPN and HBO.
With more than 20 years of executive sales, marketing and
operations experience, Godfrey brings to Elemental deep knowledge of the
broadcast, digital media and communications industries in Asia-Pac.
Prior to joining the company, Godfrey served as chief sales officer and
co-founder at Imaginasia, a service organization that facilitates the
sale of products from around the world into media and entertainment
markets in Asia. Earlier in his career, Godfrey held a variety of
leadership roles at NDS Limited and Tandberg TV (Ericsson). While at
Tandberg, Godfrey played a critical role in scaling the video
infrastructure company to a leading position in Asia.

Elemental Technologies is building a war chest. Blackman and two co-founders left their engineering jobs at video chip company Pixelworks to start Elemental in 2006. Elemental now has $19 million in the bank, according to chief executive Sam Blackman. It's the company's third funding round, led by Norwest Venture Partners and joined by Elemental's prior backers.
