LONG BEACH - Robb Gerkin is up to his arms in roses.
The Flowers by Vickie co-partner ordered 75 to 100 dozen of the fragrant stems from Ecuador in classic crimson and other shades in anticipation of Valentine's Day Tuesday.
The longtime East Village storefront - bedecked with red paper hearts, fluffy white teddy bears and gold boxes filled with Godiva chocolates - expects to make anywhere between 100 to 150 floral deliveries today throughout Greater Long Beach.
"This is the time to call in your friends," joked Gerkin, who hires designers, drivers and other staff to meet the demand. "It can get a little hairy, but we have a wonderful staff and they come through and we get it done."
