KUALA LUMPUR - Are you a fan of legendary saxophonist David Sanborn? If you are, here's your chance of winning tickets to watch the man perform at the KL Convention Centre come this March 6 (next Tuesday).
The Grammy winner will be here for a live show that serves as a prelude to the much-anticipated KL International Jazz Festival 2012, slated to take place between May 18 and 20.
At 66, the American saxophone supremo has an illustrious career spanning more than three decades, with six Grammy Awards, eight Gold albums and one Platinum album under his belt.
During his childhood, he suffered from polio and on a physician's advice, began playing the saxophone to strengthen his weakened chest muscles and improve his breathing.
His immense talent soon led him to perform alongside blues musicians Albert King and Little Milton and in later years, tour with the likes of Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones and David Bowie. In 1967, he joined Paul Butterfield's band after attending the University of Iowa.
