The deal on the 3d express is if you join the Platinum Member club (it costs to join, but is cancelable at any time) you can get the Carrara 3d express for under 20. But better then that is that if you want to get into Carrara, a much higher end program (They just added fur/hair that is excellent), they just came out with Carrara 3d Express, I am still learning Carrara (I really need a new system) and it is... If you join the Platinum club you also get a extra bonus (All PC members get it if they are a member at the end of October) on November 1st. There is another starter pack called the bridge starter pack that has some additional items, make sure you sign up for the email newsletters to get notified of the freebies. With Carrara you can model, texture, rig, render, animate etc....
