Ultrabooks, notebook computers with a sleek and slim design, are expected to be popular soon due to their high portability and good performance.
To meet Intel's key standards for the Ultrabook category, a notebook computer must be powered by a 2nd generation Intel Core Processor Family for Ultrabook and must be thin and light - less than 21 mm thick.
An Ultrabook must also have between 5 and 8 hours of battery life and must also be enabled with features that help protect itself and its user. That is, Ultrabook bios/firmware is enabled to expose hardware features for Intel Anti-Theft Technology and Intel Identity Protection Technology.
An Ultrabook computer must also come with ultra fast start-up feature - Intel Rapid Start Technology that gets systems up and running faster from even the deepest sleep, saving time and battery life. The system wakes up almost instantly and gives users quick access to their data and applications.
